Modders, when will you stop delivering us the biggest wins? I mean don't get us wrong, we love new developments from our favourite studios - they're the basis for a modder's work after all. But modders are the fans that have gotten tired of waiting for the games or the changes they want to see in titles they love and just do it themselves. Often times that means there are a bunch of other people who want to see the same games revived and in this case, it's The Lord of the Rings: Conquest.

As the Dark Side of Gaming reports, a team of modders has taken it upon themselves to recreate The Lord of the Rings: Conquest in Unreal Engine 4. Conquest Reimagined is an ambitious attempt to recreate and build on the ideas of the original Conquest by a team with a passion for the original game.

Here is the original trailer for Lord of the Rings: Conquest...

On the website, the devs promises a few main things. Of course, Conquest Reimagined will be in Unreal Engine 4 which will allow the team to "use the latest technology, photorealistic graphics, improved mechanics" and more. The team also want to add shields with a new unit: "There will be a new type of warrior on the battlefield. Instead of four types of units to choose from we're adding an extra unit called "Experienced Warrior". He wields a sword & shield in combat, he blocks all arrows above his feet when blocking and is immune to magic when blocking."

The developers also aim to remaster the original models of Conquest and to "put a lot of effort into them" as well as improving the animations for combos, executions, walking, and more. The team also wants to work with VFX artists, make map changes, improve the AI, add cinematics, improve battle mechanics and improve all the sound effects they can. It's a long long list of things they want to change and make better, and though it might seem a little too ambitious, we're hoping to see them pull it off. Godspeed.
