'Far Cry 6' Devs Hid A Tribute To Director's Dead Cat In The Game

Sad, but also really wholesome.

No matter if you think dogs are man's best friend or you're more into the charms of cats, we can all agree pets are an important part of many of our lives. We love our furry friends dearly as they've been with us for the best and worst times, but sadly we eventually have to say goodbye to our companions. And for one dev of Far Cry 6 a tribute was included in the game after they lost their cat during development.

As reported by GameRant, a Far Cry 6 dev lost their cat before the game was released. Ted Timmins, game director of the project, lost their cat Totoro suddenly and the team at Ubisoft decided to immortalise the feline in the game forever. Though it may not be one of the pets you can pick during your playthrough, there is a piece of artwork in the game dedicated to Totoro.

Here is just some of the wild activities you can get up to in Far Cry 6...

As Timmins says on Twitter: "When my boy Totoro suddenly died during the development of Far Cry 6, the team immortalised him forever on the walls all over Yara - including his brother Yoshi by his side. I'm eternally grateful for this, it means so much and was such a thoughtful surprise".

He posts pictures of the graffiti Yoshi and Totoro star in with pictures of the brothers chilling out. It's such a shame that Ted lost his cat, but it's nice to see that they won't be forgotten as they feature around the game. And if you like pets, Far Cry 6 has an abundance of critters to interact with - I have to be honest when I say Chorizo is my favourite but that might be because I got to play the game surrounded by puppies.Featured Image Credit: Ubisoft
