Far Cry 6, the latest entry in Ubisoft's long-running open-world FPS series, is entirely free to download and play this weekend on all platforms. While it might not be the best game Ubisoft has ever made, it's certainly not a bad way to spend the weekend.

If you're interested, Far Cry 6 will be free to play between March 24 and March 27 on Xbox Series X'S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store.

New players can pre-load the game right now on PC and PlayStation platforms (sorry, Xbox), so that they can dive straight into the full game once the trial period starts. Even better, the trial offers full access to all of the free downloadable content to date, co-op, and the upcoming Stranger Things crossover expansion.
Once the weekend comes to and end, those who want to buy the full game will be able to do so at a heavily discounted price - and keep whatever progress they made. Not too shabby at all.
To be honest, the Stranger Things crossover alone has me considering this. The new expansion, called The Vanishing, is described as a "stealth-horror-survival gameplay experience with mysterious characters and new lore."
Ubisoft writes: "In The Vanishing, players will enter a twisted version of Yara inspired by the Upside-Down, where Dani discovers that Yarans are disappearing and no one is safe - not even Chorizo. Players will be able to explore Stranger Things-inspired locations, such as a hidden bunker and an abandoned laboratory. Dani's mission - with new skins for a flamethrower and shotgun - is to search for Chorizo and find out what happened to the abducted Yarans."
