There's one thing everybody wants to know as soon as any open world game is announced: how big is the map? From The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to Cyberpunk 2077, players want to know exactly how much fictional world they have to explore.

While Ubisoft has yet to confirm the exact size of Far Cry 6's fictional island, the publisher has suggested that it's the largest one yet seen in a Far Cry game. Naturally, this has had fans desperate to get some idea of the scope of Yara, it's geography, and many features. We know Yara combines a large urban area with a number of villages, jungles, and beaches, but how much of it is there to see? Turns out quite a lot.

Take a look at some Far Cry 6 gameplay in action below!

Reddit user guccitorial_gangulas (thanks, The Gamer) was able to get hold of a screenshot that shows off the Far Cry 6 map in all its glory. There are glimpses of the map in many of the game's trailers so far, but none of them really showed off the entire island or its details. As you can see in the post below, this screenshot gives us a fantastic look at just how massive Far Cry 6's world is.

The map itself shows off one main island that looks to consist of four regions. As far as I can tell, there's a mountainous region to the south, while the city we've seen so much of in the trailers looks to be the north. In between that, plenty of wilderness, with forests, rivers and lakes. There's also a separate island to south-west, which I've no doubt we'll get to explore at some point during the adventure.

It's hard to get a feeling for the map's exact size, but the above image and its many biomes coupled with what Ubisoft has already said about it being the biggest Far Cry map to date suggest that Yara could be one of the company's most enjoyable virtual playgrounds yet. We'll find out when Fary Cry 6 launces October 7.
