Far Cry 6 looks set to be a pretty gritty game with some bleak and uncomfortable parallels to our current reality. Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito plays the game's primary bad guy, a terrifying and ruthless leader called Antón Castillo who wants to restore the island of Yara to what he perceives as the good old days by violently stamping out a revolution. Yikes.

The game's reveal trailer, in which Castillo goaded his son into dropping a live grenade onto a crowd of protesters, definitely wasn't messing around. Subsequent gameplay, much of which you can see below, is also looking super intense.

Certainly, it looks like we'll be wrestling with some seriously weighty themes when Far Cry 6 launches October 7. The good news is that there's also a sausage dog called Chorizo, and that's really all I care about at this point. Judging by the response so far online, that's all anybody really cares about any more. Chorizo is life, and we would die for him.

The good news is that we won't have to die for Chorizo, despite the fact it's been clearly established we all would. Much like Far Cry 5, companion characters won't be able to die on your watch, so you can send your lil pupper friend into the battle against the fascists as much as you want without fear of consequences. Video games really are all about letting you live the dream, huh?
