As well as shining a spotlight on the horrific cruelty of dictators and the rebels who resist their oppressive rule, Far Cry 6 is also getting DLCs centred on Rambo, Stranger Things and... Danny Trejo.
Hang on, let's just shuffle my notes here, there must be some sort of a mistake, maybe I misread something somewhere. Nope. It's true. This is slightly strange given the seriousness of the story. "Our story is political," said narrative director Navid Khavari in an interview with TheGamer earlier this year. "A story about a modern revolution must be."
"There are hard, relevant discussions in Far Cry 6 about the conditions that lead to the rise of fascism in a nation, the costs of imperialism, forced labor, the need for free-and-fair elections, LGBTQ+ rights, and more within the context of Yara, a fictional island in the Caribbean."

Far Cry has historically dabbled in the diabolical and the daft. Like the terrifying lethality of throwing a shovel at an NPC's noggin in Far Cry 5. As a result, it's not too out of the realm of the series' remit. However, it comes across as a little odd to use this stage where inspirations have been taken from Cuba and its revolution for a Stranger Things tie in.
I'm sure you're as bemused as I am that Danny Trejo is arriving in the game, so let's take a look at the free DLCs that are on their way to Far Cry 6 in the next 12 months.
In Danny & Dani Vs. Everybody, Trejo's Tacos is under attack from enemy soldiers and the player must team up with the actor to protect his restaurant. Danny will also join in with his machete, a nod to his iconic role as the titular bounty hunter.
Next, Rambo: All The Blood sees a Rambo buff enlist in the Yaran rebel forces, sparking an '80s inspired rampage across the island. Lastly, The Vanishing draws on the creepiness of Netflix's Stranger Things. Chorizo the sweet sausage dog has been captured and taken into the Upside Down and Dani is the only one brave enough to rescue him.
Along with these, players will also enjoy weekly objectives called Insurgencies and additional Special Ops missions. Far Cry 6 comes to PC and consoles on October 7th.
