'Fast And Furious 9' Director Wants A Jurassic World Crossover

Nine movies deep (not including spinoffs), it's become abundantly clear there's nowhere the Fast And Furious franchise isn't prepared to go in search of cinematic thrills. In an age of superhero team ups and new Star Wars trilogies, what else can Vin Diesel and the gang do but fully embrace hyper-realistic action in a series of increasingly implausible scenarios?
The recent trailer for F9 (that's Fast And Furious 9 with an official abbreviation it never needed) proved as much. In case you missed it, we learned that the old gang of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriquez, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris will be joined by some new faces on a mission that will involve them going to - or at least near - outer space. Oh, and John Cena is playing Vin Diesel's evil brother, which is somehow the most mundane part of all of this.

There are no words. It does make me wonder where the heck Fast And Furious is supposed to go after F9, though. As I see it, the tenth instalment has two options: It can either present a stripped back, back-to-basics entry that does away with all the over-the-top action and returns to its roots, or it can throw all logic out of the window and do something completely unexpected. I vote for the latter.
How does a Fast And Furious crossover with dinosaurs sound to you? Universal owns the Fast And Furious and Jurassic Park franchises, so the two finally colliding isn't actually out of the question, especially in a world where the main lesson Hollywood seems to have learned from Marvel is the more IPs you cram into a film, the more money you make.
Amazingly, F9 director Justin Lin was asked if he'd ever consider putting the two iconic movie franchises together in one big screen adventure. Even more amazingly, he actually seemed kind of into the idea.
"Well, I've never said never to anything," Lin said during a virtual F9 press (thanks, ComicBook.com) "And the fact that part of our philosophy is not to ever be boxed in or labeled. And that's all I will say."
Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty, also seems to be totally into the concept. "Once you reach a certain pinnacle, there's nowhere to go but to cross brand and merge, it's what big corporations do with each other when they get too big, you know what I mean?" she explained. "You just have to brand and merge with each other. But the only thing standing in the way is lawyers and studios. Because, usually the brands that you're trying to merge belong to different studios or whatever. But it's under the same umbrella. I don't know. I'm just saying. It works."
We also know Vin Diesel is a huge fan of dinosaurs, given that he's currently producing Ark 2 and has over 1,000 hours in the original game. Basically, don't be surprised if - no, when a Fast And Furious Jurassic Park crossover happens.
