A 'Fortnite'/Shrek Crossover Is Now A Chilling Possibility, Thanks To New Survey

Epic Games is curious to know what crossovers the Fortnite community want to see in the future, and the options range from Grand Theft Auto, Mario, Resident Evil, to... Shrek.

Player surveys have been sent out as a principle part of how the developers accrue feedback for the battle royale and improve the experience. It's likely that the bounty hunters of Season 5 (including Lara Croft, the Predator, and Master Chief) were characters that the community wanted to appear in the game, and then Epic Games found the common thread to link them together and create events around their arrival. It's a smart strategy and given that Fortnite is one of the most popular games in the world, then the team is bound to get a lot of opinions from the players.

The latest lot to land in their inboxes splits the possibilities into categories like "Video Games," "Comic Book Characters," "Video Game Characters," and "Pop Culture Characters or Brands." It asks whether or not people have heard of characters like Lady Dimitrescu, Spider-Man, Ratchet, Willy Wonka, Anakin Skywalker, Jim Halpert, Aquaman, Yoshi, the list does go on and on. You're able to scan the list for your favourites here. Strangely enough, Donkey from Shrek is among company like Jill Valentine and CJ from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The developer hasn't made room for Shrek from Shrek, who I would presume would be the most recognisable individual from the series. When they are brought into the Fortnite world, the characters don't look quite like their usual appearance - it's like they've been filtered through the game's own art style. So, wouldn't Donkey just look like a regular donkey? Why not choose the ogre that the entire series of movies and the original fairy tale is named for? Is anyone else bamboozled by this decision?

Well, with the sheer number of options offered by the survey, the odds of Shrek crossing over with Fortnite is equally as likely as not. The current quandary in the game is that The Foundation, the masked avenger encountered in the Zero Crisis Finale event, could be voiced by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Oh, and the fact that young players have been approached by dealers to help hide drugs in their rooms or even deliver them to customers, in exchange for V-Bucks or rare skins in the game.
