FromSoftware To Show Off 'Elden Ring' Again Next Month

If you like it you should put an Elden Ring on it.

There's been an awful lot of excitement around the FromSoftware and George R. R. Martin collaboration Elden Ring since its E3 reveal last year. I mean, a new game from the studio that brought us Dark Souls and Bloodborne is always an exciting enough prospect in itself... but the fact the team has collaborated with the creator of the Game of Thrones franchise to create a rich, lore-filled fantasy world? I get all hot and bothered just thinking about it.

Unfortunately, the moody and stylish E3 trailer really didn't give that much away. It didn't offer any hint as to what we can expect from Elden Ring's gameplay, and it certainly didn't provide any clues as to when we can expect the game to release.

The good news for those of us who have spent the last few months watching the reveal trailer on repeat while crying furiously is that FromSoftware will be showing off the anticipated game again soon. How soon? Next month, that's how soon.

Yes, Elden Ring will be making an appearance at at the Taipei Game Show, which runs from February 6th through to the 9th. The game will be a part of Sony's booth at the event, apparently. The bad news is that it'll reportedly be a video-only presentation, which means we're still a way off getting any hands-on impressions.

There's also a chance this video presentation could simply be the same trailer we saw at E3... though I doubt FromSoftware would be bring a months-old trailer to one of the first gaming shows of the year. Especially when everyone has definitely already seen said footage at this point. Who can say for sure though? Not me.

Unfortunately, there's also nothing to confirm that publisher Bandai Namco will be making whatever footage is shown publicly available. It's likely it will remain a little treat for attendees only - at least for a while. It really is impossible to say with any real certainty at this stage, so we'll just have to keep our eyes and ears peeled for more news when the Taipei Game Show kicks off next month.

In an ideal world, we'll get a first look at gameplay alongside a release date for Elden Ring. But if I'm being realistic, I seriously doubt we'll be getting anything quite as substantial. More likely is another brief teaser trailer, probably nothing more than a remixed version of the E3 reveal, at best.

Temper your expectations, is what I'm saying. That way, we can only be pleasantly surprised.
