Who doesn't like garlic bread honestly? Unless they've had a good excuse like an allergy, I don't think I've ever come across someone who doesn't immediately grab a piece of hot, buttery garlic bread when it's presented in front of them. It's an incredible food considering it doesn't have that many ingredients and in some cases, it heals all illnesses known to man. Oh and to Dragonborn and to Khajiit and... You get the picture.
That's right, in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, garlic bread is magical. The salty snack is so good that the power it holds is potent enough to cure almost any ailment. In-game the description of garlic bread reads: "Restore 1 points of health. Cures all diseases."
If you're looking to go away on holiday why not think about taking a trip to sunny Skyrim...
Reddit users have been all reminiscing about what a fun detail of the game it was to make garlic bread canonically one of the most powerful foods. Original poster Senpaineapple popped a picture of the bread on the Skyrim subreddit saying "Garlic bread curing all diseases will forever be my favourite mini detail in Skyrim." And other players agree, it's pretty great.
"Finally, the medical miracle we've all been waiting for," says Acceptable_Mode5837 while Astrum6 makes the good point that it indeed, "makes sense in the case of vampirism". I wonder what else garlic bread could cure given the opportunity.
If you don't recognise the garlic bread, it might be because it was introduced in the second Skyrim expansion, Hearthfire which was focused on making your save file a home for your Dovahkiin. And obviously, that had to come with the addition of good ol' comfort food because what comfy homestead doesn't have some delicious meals included? Now excuse me while I go find a snack, all this drooling over garlic bread has got me hungry.
