'Genshin Impact' Deletes Tweet About Wanting To Hang Out With Elon Musk

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has made some strange decisions here and there in the past. Just recently we reported on how the game's first year anniversary had annoyed fans because there didn't seem to be anything in-game to seriously celebrate the occasion. When you've made millions from a gacha game you might think you'd put something in it to celebrate that right? Well now, it seems that miHoYo have once again misinterpreted what its fans want because it had to cancel an invite to Elon Musk to play the game and hang out at the studio.

In a now deleted tweet which can still be found on places like ResetEra miHoYo's account for Genshin Impact says: Dear Travelers, To celebrate reaching 2 Million followers and then some, Paimon has decided to host a community challenge! Follow Ella Musk @Paimon2theMoon and check out the image below for what will happen when each milestone is reached!

Here is the trailer for Genshin Impact...

The image below the original tweet has a list of goals for Paimon2theMoon's account to reach. The first is: "When 500k fans follow @GenshinImpact will be renamed back to Paimon." The second: "When 1 million fans follow, @GenshinImpact will follow @ElonMusk". The third is: "When 3 million fans follow, @GenshinImpact will invite @ElonMusk to stream Genshin Impact." And the forth and final is: "When 5 million fans follow, CEO Dawei will invite Elon Musk to visit miHoYo HQ".

Shortly after offering this challenge to the fans of Genshin Impact, the tweets were deleted. So no time to hang out with you buddy Musk then Paimon?

It's a strange situation but it's obvious that fans of Genshin weren't too happy with the task they were presented - the backlash was significant. Although Musk has plenty of fans, he also has plenty of people online that don't like him too. However, the richest man in the world did actually respond to the invite, though it had been deleted, with his own tweet.

He just says: "Can't wait to be in Genshin Impact". Well I mean, Ella Musk is already a character in the game, I wouldn't be surprised if an Elon turned up somewhere else eventually.
