You have probably heard of the game Genshin Impact by now. The miHoYo gacha title has made waves over its first year since release, hooking in millions of players across the world. Though it may be controversial in the wider gaming community for its monetisation strategies, players of the game are currently its biggest critics as anniversary celebrations have disappointed.

As TheGamer reports, Genshin Impact is being review bombed by its own players as they have grown unhappy with the anniversary celebrations. As the game is turning a year old, fans of Genshin Impact were expecting in-game rewards and festivities but miHoYo only seems to be acknowledging the game's birthday with social media posts.

Here is the trailer for Genshin Impact...

Competitions and giveaways are taking place which means there are minimal winners, and although some of these prizes have a significant value, players are as a whole dissatisfied with miHoYo's acknowledgement of its dedicated community.

Tweets, Reddit posts and more have all appeared criticising the developer's lack of in-game recognition, and to try and make miHoYo pay attention to the opinions of the community, fans have decided that review bombing is the best course of action.

TheGamer has reported that although the AppStore rating has stayed in the green, reviews of the game on the Google Play store have tanked, all the way to two stars at some point though Reddit users have claimed to have seemingly reach between one and two stars.

The game isn't in much danger of being completely boycotted though. If miHoYo has worries about its audience reaction, it may add in new prizes for its community members. It will also be able to contest many of these reviews so its score won't be tarnished forever. However, even if there aren't amendments made to this year's celebrations, hopefully, miHoYo will take note for year two's festivities instead.
