'Ghost Of Tsushima' Studio Is Working On A "Spectacular Multiplayer Game"

Sucker Punch Productions, the developer behind the PS4 hit Ghost of Tsushima is now looking ahead to perhaps creating a multiplayer game. The team have put up a new advertisement for a job at the studio, which will be involved in working on multiplayer elements of a game - and although we don't know if it's a full separate game yet, it's heavily implied that Sucker Punch are looking to knock a new game out of the park.

Spotted by Gaming Route, the company has put out an advert on its careers page for a multiplayer / network programmer. The listing specifically says that the programmer that joins the team will be working on "a spectacular multiplayer game" if they join the team which sounds particularly interesting.

Rather than saying a mode, like Legends, the listing says game. So is that confirmation that Sucker Punch is cultivating a stand-alone multiplayer title? It's too early to say, but it's definitely piqued our interest after the success of Ghost of Tsushima.

You may already know that Sucker Punch is interested in multiplayer because with Ghost of Tsushima, came a multiplayer mode - Legends Mode. Although it's not the most popular element of the Japanese epic, it does show that the studio is capable of cool multiplayer projects. Right now, it might be that Suker Punch is looking at making an entirely separate multiplayer game or another multiplayer mode for a single-player title.

From the way that audiences have loved Ghost of Tsushima and the fact that there is a movie adaptation on the way (directed by John Wick's Chad Stahelski), a second Ghost of Tsushima game wouldn't be out of the question. Alternatively, Sucker Punch might just be interested in expanding its other big IP, Infamous, which hasn't got any attention since Infamous: Second Son back in 2014. Of course, as with all rumours, we're going to have to wait until Sucker Punch are ready to announce something later down the line.
