By now I'm sure you've heard the exciting news that Sony has greenlit a live-action adaptation of Ghost Of Tsushima. Sucker Punch's critically acclaimed samurai adventure is being brought to the big screen by none other than John Wick director Chad Stahelski.

For those unfamiliar with the plot of the game, Ghost Of Tsushima takes place in 1247, and follows Jin Sakai's quest to unite the samurai of Tsushima and repel the Mongolian invasion. The game has been praised for its attention to detail and historical accuracy, so there's a lot riding on the film to do Sucker Punch's hit title justice.

"We're excited to be partnering with Chad and 87Eleven Entertainment, to bring their vision of Jin's story to the big screen," Asad Qizilbash, the head of PlayStation Productions told Deadline. "We love working with creative partners like Chad, who have a passion for our games, ensuring we can create rich adaptations that will excite our fans and new audiences."

It's early, early days for the project right now, so it'll be a while before we hear anything about casting or a release date. With that said, fans already have some idea of who they want to see play the lead part of Jin Sakai. Over on Twitter, Ghost Of Tsushima fans are currently being quite vocal about bringing back Daisuke Tsuji, who provided the English voice of Jin - as well as the face model and motion capture.

As you can see below, there's a fair bit of enthusiasm for this to go ahead.

Even better, Tsuji himself has responded to the fans on Twitter and has expressed some interest in playing the role again. I mean, he nailed it in the video game and has earned multiple awards for his trouble - why wouldn't he want to come back and have another go?

"If I get to play Jin in the live-action Ghost," he wrote, "let it be known that I fully agree to doing butt nudity." Sounds like everybody wins in that scenario.
