Gotta go fast.

I've said this so many times at this point, but I cannot get enough of Raf Grassetti's work. The art director on 2018's God of War has spent much of his free time in the past year creating some truly beautiful versions of classic video game and comic book characters on his Instagram.

The cast of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, the Star Fox crew, Spider-Man, Dragon Ball Z, even Spawn - everything the guy does is amazing, and I would gladly hang every single one of his pieces on my walls at home. Unfortunately, I have a wife who wouldn't be quite as into that, so I don't see it happening.

Regardless, I can still admire his work on Instagram - and what work it is. Recently, Grassetti found himself inspired by the live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movie. While I've frustratingly still not had a chance to get to a cinema and watch it for myself, I understand that it's a dumb, but ultimately fun way to spend a few hours. Critics have been a bit sniffy about it, but its massive box office success kind of speaks for itself.

Clearly, Grassetti was a fan too. Some of his most recent work is of a gorgeous movie-inspired Sonic, as well as some beautiful pieces that imagine what Tails and Knuckles might look like, if they were to appear in a Sonic movie. For all I know the duo do appear in the Sonic movie, but I'm trying to avoid spoilers out here, you know? Anyway, take a look at Grassetti's work below.

Grassetti notes that he had a great time watching the Sonic movie with his kid, which is lovely to hear. He also said that he'd do everything he could to support the movie, because he wants to see more video game adaptations in the future. Don't we all? Given the success of Sonic The Hedgehog, I wouldn't be too surprised if a sequel is announced sooner rather than later. We already know Jim Carrey is down to return as Doctor Robotnik, so there's life in the old hog yet.
