'Grand Theft Auto V' Michael And Franklin Actors Tease Return In 'GTA Online'

The voice actors who played Michael and Franklin in Grand Theft Auto V appear to have teased a possible return in GTA Online's next heist. Fans are connecting Rockstar's upcoming heist to an earlier Instagram Live Q&A with Ned Luke (Michael) and Shawn Darnell Fonteno (Franklin), in which the two actors suggested something was in the works.

Just a few days ago, Rockstar Games confirmed that another heist was in development for the popular online game. The developer described it as the "biggest ever update for GTA Online, featuring our latest take on Heists in an entirely new location".

Obviously this got fans pretty damn excited. It's been a few months since Rockstar dropped the substantial Diamond Casino & Resort update, and the idea of an entirely new location to explore has minds racing. Some have even speculated that Rockstar is going to take us outside of Los Santos to somewhere like Vice City or Liberty City, but there's not a lot of evidence to suggest that.

There is, however, some evidence to suggest that the new update will see the return of two of our friends from GTA V. As pointed out on Reddit by rockstarfan_101, Luke and Fonteno expressed their interest in returning to the fold - specifically got GTA Online - all the way back in April.

During the Instagram Live, the two briefly discussed GTA VI and whether they'd return for the new game. While they don't believe that's likely, Fonteno did tease that he'd been contacted by Rockstar about an appearance in GTA Online.

"Oh yeah, that would be fun. I would love to be one of the guys who send you out the missions, yeah," Luke said in response to showing up in the online mode.

"I heard they had something coming up with us to do that, so, wait and see," teased Fonteno. Ned jumped back in to say that he hadn't heard anything about that, but there's every chance he was either being coy, or simply hadn't been contacted about it by Rockstar at that point.

We haven't seen anything from either of the lead characters since credits rolled on the GTA V campaign, so this would be a pretty huge surprise for fans.

A number of faces from GTA V have popped in GTA Online over the years, but never anyone quite as big as Michael and Franklin. Having those guys send us out on a new heist would certainly qualify as Rockstar's biggest update to the game yet. Let's wait and see... and hope the duo got the call they were hoping for.
