'GTA 5 Remake' Is A Stunning Next-Gen Vision Of The 2013 Classic

As far as video games from back in 2013 go, Grand Theft Auto V holds up incredibly well. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports are still gorgeous, of course, but even the original PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are mighty impressive by today's standards. Nearly eight years later, and Los Santos is still the ultimate open-world sandbox.

GTA V is due yet another visual overhaul this year when it releases for a third time on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Rockstar has already promised a number of visual improvements and enhancements that will make full use of next-gen hardware. It's all terribly exciting, but what if you just can't wait and want to see GTA V with cutting edge visuals right this second?

Well, that's where NB.Design comes in. As reported by The Gamer earlier this week, NB.Design is a 3D graphic designer and massive GTA fan. Their current hobby just so happens to involve giving GTA V a complete visual overhaul. Take a look at the stunning 4K trailer below for an idea of what they're working on. Even if your monitor doesn't support 4K, you'll still be able to see how stunning this whole project is.

NB.Design has stressed that this "not just a graphics mod, it's more than that," and it damn well shows in the trailer. There's some serious next-gen voodoo at work, with overhauled textures and gorgeous lighting effects that breathe new life into a game that already looked fantastic. If the official next-gen version of GTA V looks half as good as this, we're in for one hell of a treat.

There's no word yet on when exactly this project will be available for everyone to download, but you can support NB.Design over on Patreon for more updates and early access. Just make sure your PC can handle this level of beauty, obviously.
