Rockstar Games could finally be ready to pull back the curtain and reveal Grand Theft Auto VI to the world, if a recent job listing is anything to go by. It's been nearly eight years since Grand Theft Auto V's initial release date, meaning rumours and speculation about what GTA VI could be have had nearly a decade to fester. I think it's safe to say expectations are high for this one.

A new page over on the career section of the Rockstar website is advertising for a "Cinematic Gameplay Capture Artist". The job description goes on to specify that the Rockstar Gameplay Capture Team works alongside the video editing and trailer teams to "produce outstanding videos using exclusively in-game shots".

The obvious implication here is that Rockstar is gearing up to release a new trailer - but for what, exactly? There's nothing in the job listing to explicitly confirm it's referring to GTA 6, but we do know that the game was in an early stage of development around the start 2020. It could be that things have come on enough for Rockstar to release a trailer, although with most predictions not putting the GTA 6 release date to between 2023-2026, dropping a trailer in 2021 could be touch premature.

A more likely scenario is that Rockstar is preparing a trailer for the "expanded and enhanced" version of GTA V for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The studio announced last year that we'd be getting yet another new version of the popular open-world crime sim in 2021, so it stands to reason that we'd be learning more about this souped-up version sooner rather than later.

Finally, there's a chance that the trailer could be for the recently rumoured Grand Theft Auto Remastered Collection. Earlier this year rumours started circulating that Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA III were coming to next-gen consoles with improved visuals in time for the 20th anniversary of GTA III, which is this year.

As with almost every report pertaining to GTA VI, it's best to take this with a pinch of salt for now. Given that GTA V and GTA Online just had their best years since launch, there's no way Rockstar is in a hurry to get the sequel out.
