Rockstar Games has finally announced its long-rumoured heist update, and it's looking absolutely massive. The Cayo Perica Heist will take players to an entirely new island location for what the developer describes as its "biggest, most daring, and action-packed addition yet".
The update, which will be available on all platforms from December 15th, introduces a substantial map expansion and invites players to infiltrate the remote island compound of the world's most notorious drug dealer. It certainly sounds like we'll have plenty to be getting on with, and the new map looks gorgeous. Take a look for yourself below.

"It's time to raise the stakes higher than ever before," Rockstar teases in a blog post. "You've broken a convicted spy out of Bolingbroke Penitentiary. You've saved the world from an egomaniacal tech billionaire. And you've beaten the odds to drain a casino of its cash. This time, you're taking on an entire island."
Players will need to find their own ways to breach Cayo Perico, one of the most secure private islands in the entire world. Working completely alone or with the help of friends, we'll need to choose the right tools and approach to make it past the heavily armed security and escape back to Los Santos with valuable evidence... and as much gold and drug money as we can carry.
"The Cayo Perico Heist is the biggest GTA Online adventure ever, introducing an all-new exotic Heist location, with a brand-new approach to Heist design that features the ability to play everything solo or with up to three other players," Rockstar continues. "Plus you can acquire new vehicles and tactical weapons, experience new social spaces to dance and party in with your friends, and new world-class guest DJs, and listen to new radio stations with over 100 new songs. Oh, and a very large, very versatile, and very heavily armed submarine HQ with plenty of other surprises."
