Winter is coming. To GTA Online, that is. Unlike Game Of Thrones, "Winter" doesn't automatically mean an army of the dead and an ultimately disappointing finale in the world of Grand Theft Auto. Instead, it simply means a fun festive update to Rockstar's massively popular online open world crime-a-thon.
GTA Online's holiday-themed update is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and there's all manner of festive chicanery to look forward to.
Dive into the game now and you'll probably notice that a lot of the houses and business in Los Santos - including the Diamond Casino & Resort - have been given a Christmassy makeover. Wreaths, holly, and Christmas trees adorn the city, making it look like a particularly grubby holiday card.
You'll also be able to pick up a wide selection of festive clothing, accessories, and weapons from stores all around Los Santos. Because nothing says Christmas quite like wearing a Santa hat and buying yourself a shotgun cos you've been so good this year. Oh, it'll also start to snow in Los Santos soon, which is actually very on brand for Christmas.

As in previous years, players will be able take part in snowball fights around the world. A nice change of pace from the murder and crime.
But wait - there's more! Rockstar will be handing out all manner of gifts to GTA Online players throughout the season. Things like special clothing, weapons, fireworks, and "all new toys." Log in to the game before January 1st and you'll net yourself a few ugly jumpers, red pyjamas, and other suitably tacky pieces of attire.
Log in to the game on Christmas Eve (December 24th) specifically, and you'll get the Green Reindeers Lights bodysuit, a firework launcher, and 20 rocket. Find the time to play the game for a bit on Christmas Day, and you'll get the greatest gift of all: the Invade and Persuade Remote Control tank.
