Sometimes the best ideas you can have are the dumbest. I mean come on, in Mad Max: Fury Road, going from running away from your captor to turning around and driving right at them, shouldn't be a good idea but it's simply the last thing someone would expect and so it turns out to be pretty smart. In Grand Theft Auto V there is a similar effect of standing still so someone thinks you're not about to kill them.

In a clip on Reddit spotted by ScreenRant, one GTA V player had a situation where they spotted a griefer and played it cool. In the game, sometimes when people are unattended they'll be murdered without warning by other players because, you know, people can be mean sometimes. However, in this case, the tables quickly turned.

User Rastafire5 on the GTA Online subreddit showed off a clip of when they paused outside a house briefly to change the equipment they were using before someone slows in a car beside them and hops out for no reason. Rather than showing them that they're still playing, the OP decides to wait and see if the new player equips a gun and surprise surprise, they do.

With lightning-like reflexes, the player turns and shoots them dead just before it's too late. If you look at the comments on the video on Reddit, the clip has gone down a treat with other players. Some have been in this situation before and pulled off the same trick while others are just satisfied with a jerk being thwarted.

Baggss01 says, "You forgot to blow up his car. Otherwise, Nice!" while F1shB0wl816 says: "It's always great to play possum for a moment when you catch someone coming up on you. I imagine some lightweight chuckle turns into a "wtf" real quick." Yeah, I can imagine the same - a person with nothing better to do finally getting their comeuppance and being annoyed about it. They won't be trying that again any time soon.
