'GTA Online' Player Discovers Ridiculous 'GTA 6' Hint In New DLC Teaser

Here we go again.

If you hadn't noticed, Grand Theft Auto fans are a particularly passionate bunch with a keen eye for detail. Some might say they're obsessive, but my description is a lot more positive - and I mean it! I love how into the franchise some of these more hardcore fans are, and I'm always fascinated by some of the theories they come up with and the incredible details they stumble across.

Which brings me to the latest bananas GTA VI theory - one so bananas it just might be true (but probably not). The GTA community is currently talking about a recent teaser that Rockstar Games shared. While the studio announced a pretty substantial new heist update last week that includes a new map expansion, fans are more interested in another, briefer teaser that was shown off that doesn't actually seem to be immediately related to the incoming Cayo Percio Heist update.

In this separate teaser shared by the Rockstar Games Twitter account, we're shown a brief look at something called the "El Rubio Dossier". It's unclear who - or what - El Rubio might be, but a few fans have honed in on one particular detail in the footage.

As you can see in the video below, YouTuber West Highland Productions noted the coordinates briefly shown during the El Rubio video. Using those same coordinates in Google Maps takes you to a trail in the middle of Virginia, in the US. In what I would then describe as one of the most incredible stretches of this year, the YouTuber highlights a specific point on this trail where the road looks like a "VI", as in GTA VI. I'm seriously not making this up.

So what does this actually mean? In all likelihood, absolutely nothing. While some viewers of the video are now all but convinced we're getting GTA VIrginia, I wouldn't get quite so excited. At best this was a very clever tease from someone at Rockstar who knows we're still waiting for news on the upcoming game and is just screwing with us. The most likely scenario, however, is that this was a very, very weird coincidence.

Not only does GTA VI being set in Virginia not match up with virtually every other rumour we've heard so far, that trail doesn't even really look like a "VI". I'm sorry to burst that bubble, but it doesn't. There's a bloody road going through the V, for God's sake. You can't just draw over the bit of road that looks like what you want it to look like and ignore the bits that don't match up.

I'm gonna chalk this one up to ridiculous, but in the best possible way. I love the GTA community, and I very much hope that we see lots more wild theories like this between now and the actual reveal of GTA VI, whenever the heck that is.
