'Grand Theft Auto 6' Announcement Imminent, According To Job Listing

Alright, it's time to talk about even more conspiracies about Grand Theft Auto VI - and this time it's a follow up to a previous fan theory. A job listing has piqued fans' interest after a previous 'leak' mentioned that the reveal of the next GTA would happen in-game. Rockstar is advertising a position that would be involved in event coordination, and gamers are putting two and two together in the hope that it means a GTA VI reveal is just around the corner.

We have been waiting for news about another Grand Theft Auto game for years now - and in that time fans have shared all sorts of theories about where it could be set, who the protagonist might be, and even if its action is going to be spread across a combination of previous GTA maps. There are all sorts of theories and wild speculation going on, but a new one is the idea that GTA VI is going to be teased through GTA Online.

While fans have been waiting for more content from the Rockstar team, they've been making their own fun like this Pokémon in GTA mod...

GameRant spotted this post on Reddit linking to a new Rockstar career post to a theory we have previously discussed. To bring you up to speed, an apparent leak appeared on 4chan, detailing rumoured features of the GTA V next-gen improvement like new radio tracks, better AI, and new Stranger missions. But most interestingly, the post detailed a system in which the GTA VI marketing campaign would be revealed within an existing release.

"GTA Online receiving four large updates leading into the GTA VI marketing campaign which will take place over live events," is what the original leak suggests. Rockstar has now posted a new job listing for a live operation coordinator for the marketing department of the company - and it seems like it could be connected to this marketing campaign.

The Rockstar description for what the live marketing coordinator would do does in fact include live in-game work. Some of the roles that point towards this link include helping to "ideate and define marketing campaign strategies and campaign execution plans"; "drive the creative direction of our in-game marketing copy while collaborating with Localization, Art, Media, and other key teams"; and "QA test campaigns in-game before they go live and ensure campaigns are working as intended once they are live".

This all, of course, points towards more events coming to the game, and marketing having a hand in selling something through GTA Online. So the question is: what? Obviously many fans think it's GTA VI, but what if it's another Bully game? Or perhaps even something else entirely, or just more in-game features for the GTA Online we already have. Like GTA fans across the world, we'll be waiting to find out.
