Haven't you heard? Esports is the new, um sports. Even David Beckham thinks so. See, while we've all been stuck inside during the pandemic, sports had to sit on the bench while esports reigned supreme. Whether you've been into watching virtual F1 or seeing incredible League of Legends tournaments play out, many are starting to see how engaging gaming as a sport can be.

Enter, Guild. The new esports business co-owned by none other than David Beckham. The brand isn't only drawing in some the best esports talent into its roster but its also cultivating a fresh style of merch and highlighting other British, specifically music, talent.

Grime artist Yizzy has teamed up with Guild to make a track for the brand that encapsulated what they're about. You can hear the track and see some of the Patch 0.0.1 merch in the video below.

So much of gaming merch looks like gaming merchandise - this is pretty different. It features graphics by Fergus Purcell, who you'll almost certainly know the work of as he designed the iconic Palace logo. That clean impossible infinity triangle was all his idea. He's also worked with other designers like Marc Jacobs, Katie Hillier, and Luella Bartley - and now he's working with Guild to produce esports merch that looks far cooler than you'd expect.

David Beckham comments that he's "followed Fergus' work for a while now, and I love the Guild logo and graphics he has created for us. At Guild, we're on a mission to build a culture of excellence in everything we do, so as one of London's most iconic streetwear designers, Fergus was the perfect fit as our creative partner."

If you want to get your hands on any of the new Guild merch, here's a link to see it all up close. And if you want to see its teams in action from FIFA to Valorant you can check out its YouTube channel.
