We're all pretty accustomed to seeing Henry Cavill as a superhero these days - he's been Superman since the release of Man of Steel back in 2013 so that's almost 10 years of being in a cape. However, it seems DC aren't the only ones who like the look of Cavill in superhuman fights as Marvel is apparently in conversations with the actor to take on a role in the MCU.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has hoovered up a significant portion of the biggest actors in the world at this point. Whether they play one of the good guys or one of the bad ones, everyone from Brie Larson to Mahershala Ali to Owen Wilson seems to want a piece of the comic book action and Cavill is reportedly no different.
Cavill's next big appearance is in season 2 of The Witcher, and we've only just seen inside the legendary fort Kaer Morhen...
A report from Small Screen is claiming that Cavill met with Marvel representatives face-to-face in London recently. The original report apparently has word from someone close to Disney that there have been discussions going on between the Enola Holmes star and the company for a little while now - at least from May.
Of course, this relies on a report and rumours that are as yet unconfirmed, however Henry Cavill is well known for his nerdy side. Who could forget the time that he built a PC on Instagram that had us all swooning? How about when he wore a World of Warcraft mask in a Behind the Scenes video for The Witcher. And speaking of The Witcher, he practically demanded that he was involved with Netflix's hit show after loving the phenomenal CD Projekt Red RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Cavill is well-positioned to take on yet another nerd culture role but we have no idea who he may play. Of course, he's already done the mighty hero as Superman, maybe we'll see him play the villain in this universe. But right now we're just waiting for confirmation that he'll even be present in the MCU at all.
