Open-world games are really something. The ability to roam a world in whatever order you like, meeting a diverse range of characters, and seeing all the hidden nooks and crannies of a fleshed-out universe is in some ways, the height of what gaming can do.

We love exploring and delving into open-worlds and the next big thing is Cyberpunk 2077's Night City - and finally, we know what the world will look like on paper. The open-world experience will allow you to traverse Night City itself, and a little bit beyond, to form a complete ecosystem of factions, gangs, and just a splash of illegal activity.

If you're planning to buy a physical copy of Cyperbunk 2077 then you'll receive a commemorative map of Night City - a map that has now been leaked online and reported by WCCFTech. Although Night City will have a smaller radius than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's world, the map will be dense with characters, buildings, and other things that will make it feel expansive.

Just a cursory glance at the image shows that there will be six main areas - Watson, Westbrook, City Center, Heywood, Santo Domingo, and Pacifica - each with their own highlights and factions to consider. Depending on what type of player you are you'll start in one of three different lifestyles (Nomad, Street Kid, or Corpo) which will match up to different starting areas across the map.

Along with the map came a few images of postcards that show off more of the world. The first postcard is of Pacifica, a resort area that fell into disrepair, Japantown, and a bar, likely to be called El Coyote Cojo. Each gives us just a little more flavour before we see the world ourselves.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed a couple of times now, and more recently the developer CD Projekt Red has mandated crunch time with employees to get the game finished for November 19. Until then we'll have to keep wondering what exciting quests the world of Night City holds.
