'Hitman 3' Recoups Development Costs In A Matter Of Days

If you haven't played a Hitman game yet, it's hard to explain the sort of fun you cand get up to - and although the games aren't long, they're filled with some of the silliest and best murders, assassinations, and 'accidents' in all games. IO Interactive's latest offerings, Hitman 3 has now recouped all the costs it took to be created, and it has done it in less than a week.

What can we say except bravo? If you're not already familiar with what we think about Hitman 3 we have an excellent, excellent review for you to check out. So we're delighted to hear from GamesIndustry.biz that the game has done well in terms of funds too.

To quote the original article, CEO of IO Interactive Hasan Abrak says, "We have been really happy with the Hitman 3 journey. It has been a labor of love between our fans and everyone at the studio. As the developer and publisher, we are immensely proud that we can say Hitman 3 is already profitable. We have recouped the total project costs in less than a week. That puts us in a really good place and allows us to confidently move forward with our ambitious plans for future projects."

And what's even better, is that IO Interactive recently announced one of its future projects that Abrak alludes to. The developer is tackling (mentally not physically) a huge franchise surrounding one man and a license to kill - James Bond. We can't express how excited we are to see the learnings IOI have taken from the Hitman series evolve with classic Bond, but we expect team is aiming to give us the best Bond game since Goldeneye 007. Between Bond, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, and more, it looks like we're heading in the right direction for licenced games. Now the games just have to be good...
