According to multiple rumours, Sony is set to hold a special post-E3 State Of Play focusing on upcoming games later this month. Numerous insiders have been saying for the last few weeks the event could be held as soon as July 8, and will be the place we learn more about antipcated exclusives like God Of War: Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West.

While Sony has yet to officially confirm anything, it's looking increasingly likely that something is afoot. Don't forget that the company broadcast a major PlayStation 5 reveal event around this time last year after the dust had settled from E3. It was here we got our first look at the PS5 itself, as well as the likes of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

I'm sure you probably also remember that it was during this event that we finally saw the first trailer for the Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy. With days to go until the (rumoured) date of this new State Of Play, fans are hopeful we'll get another look at the long-awaited wizard sim over one year after the project was unveiled to the world.

To be clear, this is strictly speculation at this point. On the one hand, it has been a year since we last saw Hogwarts Legacy, and it would be lovely to see some actual gameplay as we inch closer to its 2022 release date. Then again, Warner Bros. made the decision not to show the RPG over E3 2021.

While this could have been because it was holding a new trailer back for Sony to show off, it could also boil down to the simple fact that developer Avalanche Software isn't ready to share more. The game was delayed to 2022 earlier this year, after all, so as to allow the studio time to create "the best possible experience".

Basically, keep your expectations in check for now. But if we were to see anything more from Hogwarts Legacy this year? It would almost certainly be as part of a State Of Play. Watch this space.
