For years we've been waiting to hear more news about the sequel to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, when it turns out one of the most iconic trailers for CD Projekt RED's fantasy RPG was a sequel of sorts this whole time.
As pointed out over on The Witcher subreddit, there's a connection between The Witcher 3's 'A Night To Remember' pre-launch trailer and the vampire-focused Blood And Wine expansion that many of us never spotted.
Before we go on, you'll want to refresh your memory by watching 'A Night To Remember' below.
In the CG trailer, Geralt confronts a woman singing by the river who turns out to be a vampire that the witcher has taken a contract on. A brutal fight follows, but Geralt ultimately walks away victorious leaving the vampire completely and utterly dead. Admittedly, fans were more than a little disappointed to learn that this fearsome encounter never ended up in the final game as a quest.

However, it turns out we do meet the woman from the trailer in Blood And Wine: it turns out she's none other than the wealthy Toussaint philanthropist Oriana. This has since been confirmed by CDPR narrative designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz himself, by the way.
During the events of the DLC, Geralt can discover that Oriana has been using the orphanage she runs as a way to satisfy her bloodlust, feeding on children when it gets too much. Upon finding out what Oriana is really up to, Geralt vows to come back for her "one day". We never see this day in The Witcher 3, though. That's because the 'A Night To Remember' trailer from years before is Geralt meeting Oriana a second time and making good on his threat.
So there you have it. One of the first trailers for The Witcher 3 actually takes place years after the events of the game. Outstanding.
