Rumours of an incoming crossover between the worlds of Modern Warfare and Black Ops have started to intensify. Dataminers combing through the files of the recent Season 4 Reloaded update have found evidence that Black Ops' protagonist Frank Woods is coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone as a playable Operator in the near future.
In-game files make repeated references to "Woods," along with a handful of audio files that seem to confirm it is indeed our old pal Frank. The audio files discovered have been compiled into a video, which you can check out for yourself below.
A Modern Warfare/Black Ops crossover would certainly make sense, given the reports that Call Of Duty 2020 is set to be a reboot of the Black Ops franchise. It's also believed that Call Of Duty: Warzone will set the stage for the reveal of the new game, which would undeniably be an incredibly cool way to announce such a big title.
Certainly, fans have already discovered plenty of evidence of a new Black Ops game in Verdansk, including coded Russian messages, Cold War-era planes... and even what seems to be a submarine lurking under the ice.
Interestingly, dataminers have also come across another set of audio files which reference a string of numbers. A string of numbers that should be very familiar to anyone who's played through the original Black Ops. You can listen to that below.
All signs point to a Call Of Duty 2020 reveal in Warzone soon, so keep an eye out. I get the feeling it's going to be an epic event that fans won't want to miss.
In other Call Of Duty news, a YouTuber made a ton of very interesting claims about the upcoming game earlier this week... before deleting the video. Alleging that they'd spoken to a source close to development, XclusiveAce suggested that the next Call Of Duty will feature Zombies, a campaign, and a completely overhauled Warzone map set in Russia.
You can read all about the details here, but make sure you take it with a pinch of salt. Either way, it looks like we'll be hearing something concrete sooner rather than later.
