Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call Of Duty: Warzone will merge in December, as announced by Activision in its third quarter earnings call yesterday.
"Black Ops Cold War's in-game content will be centred around the same in-game system that resonated so well with players in Modern Warfare. And starting with the first season of in-game content in December, Black Ops Cold War will be integrated into Warzone," said Activision Blizzard president and COO Daniel Alegre. "We'll bring Black Ops Cold War's characters and weaponry into the free-to-play experience along with substantial new content, ensuring that Warzone remains both a terrific experience and a powerful on-ramp for the franchise's premium content."
Splendid. Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a beefy boy, and will require up to 175 GB of storage space at launch on PC. If you'd like to play the game with 4K textures, ray tracing, and all of the bells and whistles, it will soak up 250 GB of storage on PC. However, the multiplayer modes will only be a measly 50 GB. As a result, players could complete the core campaign of Black Ops Cold War, then when they're done, scoop out that to slim down to the multiplayer only.

In that vein, the Zombie Onslaught mode will allegedly be exclusive to PlayStation players for twelve months. PC and Xbox players will be reminded of the Spec Ops Survival mode situation here, which was also exclusive to PlayStation for Modern Warfare. Furthermore, the closed alpha and the open betas were prioritised for PlayStation players, as they were the first to get the opportunity to go hands on with the next entry to the series. This isn't too surprising, really, seeing as Activision and PlayStation have been chummy since 2015, but it is a little annoying.
Most recently, Warzone has embraced the spooky season, and Infinity Ward has been terrifying players with glee in The Haunting Of Verdansk. There's a house that appears to be the haunt of Leatherface, from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. When the character was unlocked as a cosmetic Operator skin, we thought we'd seen the last of him, but entering the unassuming abode reveals mutilated bodies and a sudden roar of a chainsaw.
And, there are truckloads of free Halloween goodies that are scattered around the map, contained in trick-or-treat themed supply boxes. However... they are trick-or-treat boxes, and you might get stung with a jumpscare. May the odds be ever in your favour.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on November 13th.
