A lot of actors out there like to get into character when playing a villain by being as much of an asshole as possible for as long a time as possible.

Regardless of whether or not the cameras were rolling, Jared Leto did some infamously weird shit during the filming of Suicide Squad. Daniel Day-Lewis picked fights with strangers and caught pneumonia in preparation for Gangs Of New York. Hollywood is littered with examples of leading men taking it too far so as to immerse themselves in their roles.

Why don't you refresh your memory of 2019's Sonic The Hedgehog below?

Jim Carrey might be returning as the villainous Doctor Robotnik in Sonic The Hedgehog 2, but his behaviour around the cast and crew sounds like a far cry from anything the classic video game bad guy would do.

According to reports from TMZ, the actor raffled off a brand-new Chevy Blazer RS worth $40,000 to the crew as a thank you for all their hard work. It's understood that the winner of the raffle was picked on Friday, and worked as a grip on the set of the in-production sequel. We absolutely love to see it.

Not much is known about Sonic The Hedgehog 2 at the moment, although recent set photos revealed that Knuckles and Tails will be joining the blue blur for his latest adventure. The first film kept the focus on Sonic, with only a quick tease of Tails at the very end. Fans of the series will no doubt be thrilled to see these classic sidekicks make their big screen debut. I can only imagine this means future sequels with everyone from Shadow and Silver to Big the Cat and Vector the Crocodile are now a chilling certainty.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is expected in cinemas on April 8, 2022.
