A girl in the Philippines woke up to a whopping 100,000 YouTube subscribers, after her post celebrating two subscribers went viral.
Mary Grace Escober, an aspiring vlogger who admires YouTubers and TikTok stars like Ranz Kyle, Niana Guerrero, and Zeinab Harake, posted a photo of herself smiling on October 11. "Happy 2 subsciber. Subscribe to my channel," wrote Mary Grace on Facebook, with a cake decorated with two candles and a poster with the words "2 Subscribers, Thank you." Seven months ago, she started her YouTube channel, focusing on vlogs of her everyday life in the city of Bacolod, Negros Occidental.
Little did she know that her sweet celebration had gained a lot of attention, and her subscriber count soared over the course of mere hours. With more than 242,000 likes, 82,000 shares, and 20,000 comments, people from all over the world have left messages of enthusiasm and encouragement for Mary. "Keep it up! You deserve it! You have a grateful heart and a gentle soul," said Tuesday Anne G. "Greetings from Germany!"
Mary and her family also posted a set of photos to celebrate her new milestone, with golden balloons that spelled out "100K." She thanked her new fans for their support, and expressed how surprised she was to see her original post had gone viral. In an interview with Latestchika, she said that she wanted to become a YouTuber "because I want to make people happy."
She now has 131,000 subscribers on her channel, and her new Q&A video answers the most popular questions she received on her Facebook post, like her favourite school subject, her goals for the future, and her favourite food. It's a lovely story, and her modest celebration of two subscribers which serendipitously propelled her channel to super stardom tugs at the heartstrings. It's exactly the sort of news we need on a Tuesday afternoon in 2020. Good luck Mary, from the team at GAMINGBible!
