Kojima Productions Might Be Teasing A New Silent Hill Game

Almost every Silent Hill fan is used to deciphering cryptic messages or finding possible meanings in even the most mundane objects and a recent tweet from Kojima Productions has fueled that particular talent. To keen-eyed fans, it seems to be hinting at a possible announcement of a new Silent Hill game.

The tweet in question, which you can check out below, shows a photo of the head of communications for Kojima Productions, Aki Saito, and the message, "Sorry to be silent everyone! I've been really busy lately.....I think i can say more soon about what we are going to....".

Okay, so it doesn't scream "Silent Hill announcement" but it's definitely an odd choice of words for the company owned by the man largely responsible for the franchise. But that's not all! As picked up by Gamespot, if you zoom in on the photo, you can see "next week" written on the notepad on the desk and the word "pyramid" on the pencil. For those that aren't familiar with the games (or the movies), Pyramid Head is one of the more iconic - and horrifying - enemies in the series and first appeared in Silent Hill 2.

Of course, Kojima was behind Silent Hills and the associated P.T. demo on PlayStation 4, both of which got pulled shortly before he parted ways with Konami. But this isn't the first time Kojima has teased a return to Silent Hill. This tweet from last year is a huge clue:

The one complication is that Konami still owns the rights to Silent Hill (as far as we know) but I'd imagine that there's nothing stopping Kojima Productions making a similarly themed horror game that will appeal to Silent Hill fans, even if it doesn't carry the name. Of course, Konami itself has recently hinted at a return to the series so it could be that pretty soon we'll all be inundated with Silent Hill-esque games.

Still, it looks like we're going to be getting some sort of announcement very shortly about Kojima Productions' next project. And if they're going to start throwing around words like 'pyramid' and 'silent' in the same tweet, is it honestly surprising that a few of us might start jumping to conclusions?
