It has been confirmed by EA that Kylian Mbappé will once again be the cover star of its hit football series FIFA. The 22-year-old will be the face of the game for the second year in a row after being plastered all over FIFA 21 last year. Though he might not have had the best season, including that penalty in the Euros, he continues to dominate as one of football's brightest talents.

As reported by Eurogamer, the cover star was confirmed by EA along with an official statement from Mbappé: "Being on back-to-back FIFA covers is amazing. I have a very special relationship with the game and look forward to enjoying FIFA 22 alongside all of you." As you can see, its filled with lots of his personality, eh?

Of course, EA tweeted out the good news that the French player would be returning to the cover of the next FIFA game which brought back a little ridicule on Twitter. France is still nursing the wounds of being ejected from the UEFA European Football Championship. The team looked like they had a win in the bag until Switzerland came back with a goal with 12 seconds of the 90 minutes left. After the tense extra time, the match came down to penalties. Though Mbappé's talent is undeniable, Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer denied his penalty and sent France home.

Though that performance is what comes to mind at this moment in time, there is no doubt that Mbappé will be fighting harder than ever to become the best of the best. This is the second time the French player will have been on a FIFA cover, but as he's still only 22, it's likely to not be his last.

FIFA 22 is set to have its trailer revealed tomorrow, July 11, at 4:30 pm BST on the EA Sports FIFA YouTube channel.
