Lil Nas X has won the hearts of the internet. Somehow a guy making a country/rap crossover song has become one of the year's largest cultural talking points. A man who felt destined to be a one-hit-wonder decimated the odds to become an icon in his own right and now he's released a video game. About twerking.

To be perfectly honest, if someone asked me to make a game for the Montero singer, would I have been able to come up with something so weird and yet perfect? Probably not. So cowboy hats off to the team that made the rhythm game. The aim is simple, Lil Nas needs to twerk and you can help him. Hold down the mouse button and wiggle his ass in time with the song and hit arrows to get points. Points lead to stars and if you get at least two, you can progress to the next round.

As you go and earn stars and twerk well, I couldn't help but laugh at the three congratulatory phrases you can get - "Nice", "Shaken" and "Real Pro". I've never been considered a twerking professional in my life, and this game fixed that problem for me. And for that, Lil Nas X, I thank you.

And of course, each level corresponds to a different part of the controversial music video taking him from heaven to hell. Lil Nas X came out as gay shortly after his rise to fame and this video and song is a statement on his acceptance of his sexuality which includes the acceptance that people may believe he's going to hell. Obviously, some religious individuals have had a problem with the video and the modded Satan Nikes that he has promoted since. You can see his 'apology' for the shoes further up in the story. This game is just another layer on the cake (pun intended) to the situation.
