New, Limited-Edition Gaming Chair Has Built-In Sword, Because Sure, Why Not

But nowhere to put a snack? Interesting priorities...

IDK about you, but one thing I've often thought about, while playing a video game, is: gosh, if only this chair I'm sitting on has an entirely fake katana built into it. Well, if you've been there, too - and face it, so few of us haven't been - we've news for you. Chinese PC hardware manufacturers Lenovo have you covered.

As PC Gamer reports, the makers of items ranging from laptops to Legion Towers are producing a very-limited range of gaming chairs with a sword strapped to the side of them. I mean, it's not a real sword. Gaming has a rough enough reputation still, when it comes to largely unsubstantiated ties between violent games and violent crimes, so I can't imagine the outcry if Lenovo's new seats actually featured a deadly weapon. These things are meant to be comfy, after all.

But, nevertheless, this is something they're making, and it's just about weird enough to make it onto these pages. Well done, I guess? (Still, it's hardly as incredible/outlandish as the chair in the video above - but then, what is?)

This not-quite-one-of-a-kind arse-parker is to be limited to just five units, and is available only via a promotion in Japan. The giveaway coincides with the start of the second series of the anime show, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and the chair is loosely based on the look of a fan-favourite character in said show, the katana-wielding demon slayer Giyu Tomioka.

Anywhere for a cup holder on this thing? Nah. A spot to make like you're a dashing demon killer with super-human strength? Absolutely. Makes perfect sense to me.

Gotta admit that the pattern on this thing is pretty appealing - but given the only way to get this chair is via Lenovo Japan's official Twitter account, I think I'll leave it to the locals. Fifteen-thousand retweets on the giveaway, so far, tells me: if you get one of these chairs, you've been very lucky indeed.
