Looks Like 'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' Is Going To Hell

It looks as if Eivor will be going to the depths of Helheim Muspelheim itself in an all-new expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Apologies for earlier realm confusion there - but hey, Hell is fiery, and so is Muspelheim, so you can forgive our it's-late-here mistake.

As far as we were aware, Ubisoft's open-world Viking adventure was only supposed to get two major paid expansions. The first was The Wrath Of The Druids, which launched just a few weeks ago. The second, The Siege Of Paris, is expected later this year. Both expansions offer up new regions to explore, characters to meet, and quests to complete. But now it looks like the action isn't ending in Paris.

During Ubisoft's E3 Forward presentation, we were treated to an exciting first look at the upcoming The Siege Of Paris expansion, which is shaping up to be a rather lovely little extra adventure for our merry Viking band. The footage ended with an extra surprise, however, when Ubisoft confirmed additional expansion are in development! Take a look at the teaser below.

As you can see from the fiery gates and lava everywhere, it seems all but certain that this mysterious third expansion will have Eivor heading to Muspelheim - home of the fire giants, and not Helheim, which obviously is the rather colder place inhabited solely by the dead who didn't make it to Valhalla. ("Obviously" if you've played God of War lately, anyway.)

It's important to note this hasn't been outright confirmed by Ubisoft, but come on... those sinister-looking gates don't lead to peanut butter gum drop land, do they? There's also the fact that Valhalla had entire sections set in Asgard, so a new region, or realm, to explore wouldn't be too far beyond the realms of possibility.

This theory also lines up with previous reports from multiple industry insiders that Ubisoft Sofia is currently developing an extra DLC for Valhalla, codenamed Meteor. Whatever Eivor comes up against in this third expansion, it's probably not going to be pretty. We'll learn more about the future of Assassin's Creed Valhalla soon, so stay tuned!
