But we're not so sure

Sony and Marvel finally dropped the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home in the early hours of this morning, and fans are already obsessing over every little detail in search of clues.

The trailer, which you can watch again below, is absolutely packed with surprises and cameos. The biggest and most obvious are the returns of Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, but we also got a few brief glimpses of Electro, Sandman, and something that looks an awful lot like The Lizard at around the 2:26 mark.

No doubt about it, No Way Home is going to be stuffed to the gills with crowd-pleasing appearances from classic villains - and fans are convinced a few familiar allies will pop up too. We already know Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange will be guiding Peter through the multiverse, but some believe that Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock - AKA Daredevil - was also teased in the trailer.

The beginning of the trailer establishes the fallout from Spider-Man: Far From Home. Specifically, the world knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man, and also thinks that he murdered Mysterio and launched a terror attack on London. Needless to say, this lands our young hero in a world of trouble. In one scene we see Peter being questioned by the FBI, but it also looks like he has some legal counsel by his side.

While we don't actually see this character's face in the trailer, a number of rabid fans believe that Peter's lawyer is none other than Matt Murdock. On the one hand, there have been rumours suggesting Charlie Cox filmed a few scenes for No Way Home so I could totally see him being in the movie. On the other? Well, I think people are perhaps getting a little too obsessive over the trailer. And a few of you are being a little too weird about what Charlie Cox's hands look like, to be honest.

Spider-Man: No Way Home launches December 17. Hopefully. In the meantime, go back to forensically studying Charlie Cox's forearms. For "science".
