Marvel legend Stan Lee will never be forgotten. As the co-creator of characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, the X-Men, and more, the late writer and activist has long since ensured his legacy as one of the greats.
Even so, it's wonderful to see that the people of New York have chosen to honour Lee in a different way - one that focuses on where he came from, not what he would go on on to do. As reported by Bronx News 12, a street in The Bronx near where Lee grew up has officially been named "Stan Lee Way."
Take a look at our favourite Spider-Man video games below, none of which would ever have been possible with Stan Lee.
The street name was officially unveiled over the weekend by Councilmember Fernando Cabrera. Any Marvel fans hoping to make the pilgrimage and pay their respects can find it on University Avenue, between Brandt Place and West 176th st, in The Bronx, NYC. Lee was born in Manhattan, but his family moved to 1720 University Avenue in The Bronx when he was a teenager.

Lee attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the same neighbourhood. The school's current crop of fine art students were present at the unveiling of Stan Lee Way, which doesn't make me want to lie down and cry at all.
One of Dewitt's current students, Rafeal Class, spoke to Bronx News 12 about the Stan Lee's legacy throughout the neighborhood, saying, "When you walk in Clinton, we have the portraits of him...it's inspiration like you never know what could come out of the Bronx."

Lee passed away on November 12, 2018, weeks before his 96th birthday. While he might have spent his last years in Los Angeles, "Stan Lee Way" is a beautiful reminder of where the writer came from. Spider-Man, arguably his most popular creation of all, will forever be intrinsically tied to New York. It's fitting that Lee is too.
