A TV show about the character might be just the ticket for the beloved Spider-Man.

Space Jam: A New Legacy actor Cedric Joe has a suggestion for Marvel Studios - make a movie about Miles Morales and let him play the part of the hero.

Into The Spider-Verse was a smash hit for Sony Pictures Animation, raking in $375 million at the box office. Tom Holland called it "one of the coolest films [he has] ever seen," Rian Johnson said it was the "the Velvet Underground of superhero movies" and James Gunn is confident that it is his favourite superhero movie. Following the dorky yet endearing Miles Morales as he tries to navigate the pitfalls of high school and where he fits in New York City, his powers come from a radioactive spider that has escaped from a super-collider built by Kingpin. He discovers that other Spider-people from other dimensions - namely Peter B. Parker, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker and Spider-Ham - have been expelled from their dimension and into Miles' reality as a result of Kingpin's experiments on the super-collider.

Together, they attempt to sew the rifts between dimensions back together, beating baddies and realising their strengths as a unit compared to working on their own. And all the while, it's a feast for the eyes too with a hypnotic amalgamation of computer animation and traditional hand-drawn comic book techniques. Long story short: it's a really good movie that I enjoy very much. The raucous reception to Into The Spider-Verse ensured that a sequel is already in the works, and if Marvel Studios was ever to give the character of Miles Morales some time in the spotlight, fans would flock to the cinema in their droves.

War For Wakanda is the upcoming DLC for Marvel's Avengers, arriving in August. Actor Christopher Judge, who voices Kratos in God Of War, is the first to portray the hero since Chadwick Boseman's passing last year - check it out here.

Speaking in an interview with Comicbook.com, Cedric Joe said that if that movie is ever made, Marvel Studios should give him a ring. Joe plays Dom in Space Jam: A New Legacy and has had a number of small roles on television like Modern Family, Good Trouble, and Game Shakers. "The Marvel franchise is something I've always wanted to be a part of," said Joe. "And you know, they haven't really made a Miles Morales Spider-Man film yet. So there's still a possibility."

Again, the love for the character and the number of untold stories from the Marvel Comics means that a fully fledged film about Miles Morales isn't out of the question. Or, we could see a TV show which would cover Miles' escapades as he attempts to grapple with his new powers, the responsibility of protecting the people, and handing in his homework on time. As a number of the Marvel shows on Disney+ are geared towards an older audience, this might be a chance to court new viewers and introduce them to the legacy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a comedic yet exciting way.
