'WandaVision' Quietly Updates Finale Post-Credits Scene To Include Major Tease

Eagle-eyed Marvel megafans have discovered that the finale post-credits scene of WandaVision has been surreptitiously changed by Disney, showing a strange silhouette descending towards the character's log cabin. What does it mean?

Spoilers for WandaVision follow, but I'm fairly certain you're up to speed, seeing as the show was the most viewed title in the world at the start of this year.

At the end of the show, the residents of Westview are liberated from the Hex that Wanda created, following a fight with the ancient witch Agatha. Wanda then leaves with the Darkhold, a magical grimoire that she took from Agatha's house, to study the infinite knowledge that it contains on the Dark Dimension and dark matter. Her hideout is a lovely one, to be honest, and appears to be a quaint log cabin nestled in a picturesque forest surrounded by water. However, Twitter user @Lunwi88 was watching that episode when they noticed that something in this scene has changed between the original release and what it looks like now.

Check out this sizzle reel for all of the movies and TV shows coming to Disney+ that are part of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The first change is that the trees seen on the left of the sweeping shot towards the cabin are much more populous. Look for the new orange and green trees along the shoreline when you compare the two scenes. The second change (and this is the one that's got fans hot under the collar) is that a shimmery silhouette seems to float downwards from the cliffs, en route to Wanda's hideout. Don't start scrubbing away on your screen: it's not a reflection or mark on your monitor, that's sort of triangular in shape. Weird, isn't it?

Before we get ahead of ourselves, it's possible that this is some sort of error in post-production. Army Of The Dead viewers were tearing their hair out over dead pixels in the movie which may have been due to the combination of camera and lens setup used by director Zach Snyder. However, the shadow that travels down to the cabin does look a lot like Doctor Strange in flight. The sorcerer was originally meant to show up in the show, and we know that the Scarlet Witch will appear in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

There's also a theory that this is only one of many changes enacted by a new character introduced in Loki. Sylvie, a variant of the Laufey trickster, has the sole aim of unravelling the "sacred timeline," and in doing so, she might have altered how events play out after Wanda's time in Westview. If there are any other sneaky changes lurking in other shows and movies, we'll update you.
