The emotionally charged limited series WandaVision was a smash hit when it premiered on Disney+ earlier this year, and now a spin-off is in the works centering on none other than Agatha Harkness.

While the original intention was to have The Falcon and the Winter Soldier usher in Phase 4 of Marvel Cinematic Universe, changes as a result of the pandemic meant that WandaVision took its place. Without spoiling anything specific, it's certainly cut from a different cloth from your usual Marvel fare, with each episode set in a different time period. Wanda and Vision try to hide their extraordinary powers from their neighbours in Westview with hilarious outcomes.

However, it's clear that something sinister is bubbling below the surface of this too-perfect town. WandaVision bagged an amazing 23 Emmy nominations across categories like sound mixing, editing, visual effects, costumes and more. In fact, it won the award for best original music and lyrics category for the song Agatha All Along, which leads us conveniently onto this news about the spinoff.

Check out the trailer for Hawkeye, starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld as Clint Barton and Kate Bishop, arriving this November!

Now the spoilers for WandaVision are here, so step off if you're yet to catch up with the show!

Agatha was living undercover as Agnes, a busybody who provided a lot of the comic relief in Westview, which made it all the more shocking when she was revealed to be a witch. Ambitious and spiteful, Agatha was studying magic for centuries having survived the Salem Witch trials, and Wanda's innate talent both frustrated and fascinated her. While she was a fan favourite character, there wasn't a whole lot to learn about her in the show and her fate in the finale might open the door for her to return in the future.

Whether or not this new show will take place in the past, riffing off the exciting and creative costumes and sets designed for WandaVision, or will explore Agatha's life as Agnes after Westview is freed from Wanda remains to be seen. We do know that WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer is on board as writer and executive producer on the show so it's in very good hands.
