'Marvel's Spider-Man' Voted Best PS4 Exclusive By Fans

Marvel's Spider-Man has been voted the greatest PlayStation 4 exclusive in a recent poll. Insomniac Games' open-world superhero adventure beat out the likes of God Of War, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, and The Last Of Us Part II. I know what you're thinking: Bloodborne was robbed.

The web-swinging adventure came out on top in a poll conducted by our friends over at UNILAD, where it smashed God Of War and The Last Of Us Part II after getting to the final bracket. To each their own, of course, and I absolutely love Marvel's Spider-Man... but best PS4 exclusive? Really? I'm not entirely sure. Then again, it won the vote so what the heck do I know?

I reviewed Marvel's Spider-Man back when it first released, and had nothing but good things to say about the game. In a glowing review, I said that it was one of the finest superhero games of all time, and definitely the greatest game ever to star Spider-Man.

"Simply put, Marvel's Spider-Man is a triumph on almost every level," I wrote. "Even the occasional bit of padding in the story and some repetitive crimes can't get in the way of a game that looks incredible, plays even better, and manages to tell one of the most exciting stories in a video game this year."

If you've yet to play this so-called "Greatest PS4 Game", the good news is that Insomniac will be bringing it to PlayStation 5 with new character models, content, and more. This enhanced version of Marvel's Spider-Man will launch alongside the upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales as part of an Ultimate Edition bundle. In addition to all these new bells and whistles I just mentioned, you can expect the game's original campaign in its entirety along with the three DLC chapter expansions.

"The remaster for the PS5 is no simple up-res," wrote Insomniac Games community director James Stevenson for the PlayStation Blog. "Many of the game's art assets have been completely updated to take advantage of the PS5 console's horsepower. You'll see better-looking characters with improved skin, eyes, hair, and facial animation, including our new, next-generation Peter Parker."

The PlayStation 5 will launch in the UK on November 19th alongside the next chapter of Insomniac's Spider-Man saga. I can't wait.
