The fantastic Mr Fox.

Who doesn't love Michael J. Fox? Arguably one of the most well-loved actors in the industry recently celebrated his 60th Birthday, and fans everywhere took to social media to share their admiration for the man himself - not that we ever need an excuse to heap praise on Fox, to be fair.

Born in Canada on June 9, 1961, Fox is perhaps best known as Marty McFly, the impulsive hero of Back To The Future trilogy. Fans will probably remember that Fox very nearly missed out on this role: several scenes from Back To The Future were originally shot with Eric Stoltz. Director Robert Zemeckis was left feeling Stoltz wasn't quite right for the part however, and Fox was brought in. The rest, as they say, is history.

Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1991, but this didn't slow down his acting career. He took on lead roles in classics like Spin City and The Frighteners in the years following his diagnosis, and had some memorable guest spots on shows like Scrubs and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He would go on to found The Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson's Research, a group dedicated to finding a cure for the debilitating disease.

Happy Birthday to you, Mr Fox. You truly are one of the greatest actors of your generation. Now if you'll excuse me, I clearly need to go watch Back To The Future for the 100th time.
