The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale mode continues to be a particularly poorly kept secret. Kind of like the Resident Evil 3 remake, or my entirely un-ironic love of Angels & Airwaves. There have been so many reports and alleged leaks of the multiplayer mode over the last month or so, but this latest discovery is the most convincing argument yet that a battle royale is coming to the Infinity Ward shooter.

Over on Reddit, a user by the name of Nateberg3 recently shared a 30-second clip of what looks to be the entire map for the rumoured mode - and it's pretty damn massive. In the video, which you can see below, Nateberg3 experiences a glitch which throws them high into the sky above the Spec Ops map Verdansk. From this previously unobtainable vantage point, they're able to spin the camera and look out across a much, much larger map.

Interestingly, the video seems to include many of the areas that a previous datamine suggested the Modern Warfare battle royale map would feature, such as the Gulag and a football stadium. That earlier leak also claimed that the battle royale mode is being developed separately by Raven Software, will support 200 players, and will offer solo, duos, and four-player matches.

It was also alleged in the previous leak that there'll be some kind of respawn system for the battle royale. This feature will reportedly offer players 1v1 in the aforementioned Gulag, with the winner getting the chance to revive and rejoin the battle. All these separate reports seem to be lining up, that much is for sure.

The prevalent rumour right now is that the Modern Warfare battle royale will be released in early 2020 as a free-to-play standalone mode. While we previously couldn't say for certain that the earlier datamine was 100 percent legitimate, this new video seems to at least confirm the claims regarding the map, if not the mode's features and mechanics.

It's worth noting that we still haven't had official word from Activision or Infinity Ward on whether or not Modern Warfare will be getting a battle royale mode. But with The Game Awards coming at the end of this week (Thursday, December 12th) there's a chance an announcement is coming sooner rather than later.

Given the fact that Modern Warfare is Activision's most popular Call of Duty game in years, I would honestly be surprised if the publisher didn't try to build on that success with a battle royale mode. I mean come on, a free-to-play Modern Warfare battle royale would be disgustingly popular, wouldn't it?
