A recent update to Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call Of Duty: Warzone has heavily nerfed the C4, and the change hasn't gone unnoticed. Mostly because unaware players are now blowing themselves up by mistake.
The latest Call of Duty: Warzone patch notes explain that Infinity Ward has adjusted the popular explosive device with a "slight delay" to its detonation time. The developer has also turned down its "throw initial velocity" by 30%. Long story short, the players who don't read the patch notes - which is probably most of the people who play the game - have been wiping themselves out with their own C4 because they had absolutely no idea anything had changed.
Of course the reports of people blowing themselves sky-high started to come thick and fast, so it's safe to say most of the community is now all-too aware that the C4 ain't what it used to be. Still, it was an... explosive couple of hours immediately after the update.
One guy even managed to get the win in Warzone because their opponent blew themselves up with their own C4, which is one of the funniest things I've seen all week by far.
As always, the Call Of Duty community is fairly divided on the latest nerf. Some believe it was about time the C4 was taken down a peg or two, while others argue that it's an unexpected change that has killed one of the game's most useful weapons. Me? I just think it's hilarious that there was a period of a few hours where nobody had an any idea that the C4 had been changed. Pour one out for the first player to discover this particular nerf.
In other C4-related Warzone news, if you missed yesterday's story about the player in the Gulag who managed to kill two players with one rock and an explosive device, I urge you to check it out. It's definitely one of best Warzone moments I've seen in a long while.
