Resident Evil 3 is mere weeks away from release at this point, and OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) have a beefy feature on the game - seemingly leaked in a Reddit post - that reveals a bevvy of new information that is sending the Resi fanbase into meltdown.

Fans have been picking through a heap of spoilery content revealed in the 9-10 page article on the game, which tosses up a lot of interesting new features. Chief among them, is something that will break an age-old Resident Evil rule. Safe rooms are no longer safe.

Yes, in a shocking break from tradition, it looks like Nemesis the tenacious tormentor that chases your through the game will be able to sneak up on protagonist Jill Valentine as she attempts to catch some much needed breath, check her inventory and generally just take a load off from the post-apocalyptic streets of Raccoon City.

This will likely ramp up the suspense to levels of discomfort scarcely seen in the series since... well... ever, really. The Reddit post reads " It is confirmed Nemesis is the first monster in Resident Evil history to break the 'Safe Room' rule. If he's chasing you, he can break into safe rooms."

The post goes on to say that, to balance this, there will be some areas that (for some story reasons) Nemesis won't be able to follow you into to give you a bit of respite, but the idea is that he is meant to be a constant threat keeping you on edge throughout the game. This means that he won't always be chasing you, but when he is, it will not be easy.

Other things mentioned in the article (avoiding as many spoilers as possible) include the news that enemy AI has been redesigned to be more responsive to each other. For example, a single zombie foe will react differently to those in a horde.

Raccoon City itself is said to be much, much bigger than we've ever seen before. In fact, it's going to have a fast-travel option via the subway system that Jill can unlock, to help you navigate the doomed streets more quickly. While it's not open world, there will be multiple paths players can take through different streets and shops, making it feel much bigger.

Carlos will be playable and will have a much more fleshed out character in the game, but he won't have his own campaign like we saw in Resi 2's dual Leon and Claire campaigns.

There's a lot more in the Reddit post which you should definitely check out if you simply can't wait until April 3rd, but like I said earlier there are some big spoilers in there that fans might want to wait for until release day .
