'Mortal Kombat' Kano Actor Would Fight Conor McGregor And Greta Thunberg

The Mortal Kombat series is nothing if not brutal. Violence is the name of the game, and although there can be complex storylines, love-hate relationships, and more to the characters, it always comes back to a one-on-one bloody battle to the end. And that's what we love most about the series and the brand new Mortal Kombat film.

GAMINGbible recently had the opportunity to sit down and chat with actors from Mortal Kombat and pick their brains a little about their characters and the film as a whole. We got to chat with Jessica McNamee who plays Sonya Blade and Josh Lawson who plays Kano in the film to hear their thoughts on Sonya and Kano's relationship and who they'd like to fight if they could demand a match against any character or person, real or fictional. And Josh's answer surprised us.

After our wonderful reporter, James asked who they'd most like to fight, Jessica's answers felt pretty normal and exciting. "I would love to fight someone like Lara Croft," says the actress, putting that down to the similarities of Mortal Kombat and Tomb Raider games action themes. McNamee goes on to say, "I mean I would love to fight, as an actress, any Charlize Theron character." And oh my goodness, Sonya versus Furiosa sounds like a match I'd love to watch.

Josh Lawson on the other hand made us laugh with his first answer. "Uh, look, I don't know - who would I fight? Maybe Greta Thunberg?" a small pause, for effect ensues before Josh reassures us all that he's totally joking. "Kidding, kidding, I love her, I'm kidding, no I love her, she's a hero". I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief after that one, though I would still put money on Thunberg beating Kano's ass, as Josh agrees.

"That's the sort of thing Kano would say," Josh continues. "You know what, let's make it Conor McGregor, let's really make this a show. Both loud mouths, at least the pre-match smack talk would be fun." Totally agree, Josh, that's also a match I'd love to see.

You can watch the entire interview with the wonderful Jessica McNamee and Josh Lawson above.
