This survey asking gamers up and down the United Kingdom has turned over some surprising results, and from its data, we can conclusively tell you what is the most popular game in the country.
Patrol Base, an airsoft store, used search demand to determine what video games people are looking for across 30 major cities. From Belfast to Wolverhampton, it's immediately clear that gamers in the UK opt for a whole range of titles, with no one genre coming out on top. In Brighton, The Legend Of Zelda gets a lot of love, whereas Londoners like to play StarCraft, God Of War, and Battlefield. Again, gamers in Cardiff concur that God Of War is an extremely moreish game, soaking up hours and hours zipping about the Nine Realms. On the other hand, those in Bristol much prefer games that take a more purposeful pace to the story, like The Witcher and Tomb Raider. The Midlands also shows significant differences between the cities, with DOTA 2 in Nottingham, The Last Of Us in Derby, Grand Theft Auto in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, and BioShock in Sheffield. According to Patrol Base, BioShock gets 32,000 monthly searches across the UK, with BioShock: Infinite snagging another 21,000 monthly searches to boot.
